Dedicated to the advancement of all Aboriginal people in the GTA. The independent (TMC) Toronto Métis Council serves as an organizing platform where the local Métis and other interested Aboriginal people can come together, become informed on social policy and initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of the Aboriginal Community within the GTA.

Mission Statement

Toronto Métis Council was incorporated in December 2004 as a non-profit, charitable, Aboriginal multi-service agency to serve the needs of the Pan-Aboriginal community of the Greater Toronto Area in order to help ameliorate the deleterious effects of colonization on Aboriginal people and culture.

To this end we seek to improve the life chances of success for Aboriginal People in the GTA by increasing their economic and social mobility through a well integrated and professional system of personal support services, and inter-agency cooperation and organizational development.

These services are intended to be delivered in coordination and cooperation with our sister Aboriginal service agencies, relevant government stakeholders, and the local representative Aboriginal political body in the GTA, and encompass:

• Housing
• Health & Wellness
• Children’s & Family Mental Health
• Employment & Training
• Education & Language
• Youth & Heritage Programs
• Justice & Offender Rehabilitation
• Economic & Community Development
• Governance & Capacity Building
• Umbrella Organizational Facilitation
