The Growth Model

In pursuit of its stated Mission TMC focuses on a model of systematic and progressive individual and community growth and development.

As a community is a collective of individuals, a person’s social and economic development within that community is limited by access to and availability of resources in that community.

So too, a community’s political and economic development is determined by the ability of its members to access, contribute to, and utilize the resources of that community.

TMC is dedicated to identifying service areas and providing collaborative solutions to the community with all Aboriginal and government stakeholders interested in fostering the growth of the GTA Aboriginal community.

 

Pillars of Growth
Health, Community & Social Services
The community and its development are sustained by several core pillars that form the basis of a healthy and firm community foundation, that being healthy functional individuals, families and institutions within supportive, accessible and meaningful cultural contexts that provide opportunities for growth and mobility.

Economic, Community Development
TMC is interested in developing opportunities for individual Aboriginal enterprise and community institutions. TMC seeks to coordinate planning and implementation of ongoing and new initiatives within the framework of the GTA Aboriginal agencies and representative Aboriginal government.

Governance & Capacity Building
TMC seeks to develop a Research & Policy Institute and an organizational Centre of Excellence to facilitate governance, economic and community development, organizational, individual, and professional development within the GTA community.
